What is SETIPWind 2?
The SETIPWind 2 project is funded by Horizon Europe, the EU’s funding programme for Research & Innovation. It supports the coordination of activities of the European Technological Platform for Wind Energy (ETIPWind) and the Implementation Working Group on Wind energy (IWG Wind).
These two SET-Plan (EU’s Strategic Energy & Technology plan) entities respectively aim at defining Research and Innovation priorities for the wind energy sector and implementing actions at the national level to accelerate the development and deployment of wind energy in Europe.

SETIPWind 2 Objectives
- Strengthen the SET Plan Community on Wind Energy by coordinating the work of IWG Wind, ETIPWind and EERA JP Wind so they can jointly deliver consensus‑based EU and national R&I policy recommendations.
- Address today’s fragmented funding landscape, aligning national and EU R&I investments, and proposing governance models for a coordinated, long-term funding instrument under the next EU budget (2028-2034).
- Strengthen collaboration with other ETIPs, IWGs, international partnerships, and cross-sector initiatives to ensure wind energy R&I is aligned with broader energy-system priorities and contributes to the European Green Deal, REPowerEU, the Net‑Zero Industry Act, and the Green Deal Industrial Plan.
- Enhance communication, content creation, and dissemination to raise awareness of wind energy technology developments, the sector’s state‑of‑play, and its economic and societal impacts.
- Safeguard ETIPWind and the SET Plan Community on Wind Energy’s successful continuation with a finance and sustainability plan beyond the lifetime of SETIPWind 2.
